Even with the holidays approaching, there’s no shortage of fun to be had at the library this December!

Of course, there’s also plenty for kids, teens, and families to enjoy while school is out.

Reading Road Trip: Adult Winter Reading Challenge

Reading lets us experience bygone eras, faraway places, and the depths of imagination. This winter, your PPLC library card is your ticket to explore the U.S.—for free!
Pick up your Reading Challenge card at the library, running Dec 1–Jan 9, and read across the regions of the country and travel-related themes to win prizes and entries in our Grand Prize Basket Drawing. Your first book earns you two Largo Library luggage tags and one drawing entry. Complete all nine themes to win a Largo Library duffel bag and three more entries!

As we read across the spectrum of the romance genre, our choices will reflect various books that may contain steamy scenes, various sexualities, experiences, and cultures. Tech Help Tuesday
Tuesdays
Bring your technology questions with devices and passwords to get one-on-one help! All technology related questions are welcome! Staff will do their best, but some technology questions may not be answerable during the time frame or staff may need to let you know that it is not something that we can assist with.
 
Tech Help Tuesday now requires registration before the program. One 15-minute slot per patron per week, multiple registrations will be canceled. Registration opens the week before each Tuesday and closes at noon on the Tuesday of the program.

English Language Learning

Citizenship & Naturalization Classes

Are you a legal permanent resident of the United States seeking citizenship? We can assist you with preparation for the naturalization process, including civics, U.S. history, and interview practice. Classes are led by Learning Empowered, a nonprofit organization. New students can join anytime during the 11-week term.
 
Conversation Club

Fridays | 11:30am - 12:45pm
All non-native English language learners are invited to attend weekly Conversation Club. This fun and engaging program provides an opportunity for individuals to practice their speaking and listening skills in an informal, down-to-earth atmosphere. Each session will have a different topic of discussion, topics might include conversations about travel, cooking, the job hunt, and other life skills. Registration is NOT required. Just show up and have fun conversing and making new friends. Note: conversation club on Tuesdays is NOT the same as conversation club on Fridays. So, if you can attend both, please do!

Even if you missed a meeting, in under 20 minutes, we will review the best tips from our live PGS program speakers throughout the year to help you improve your research. This program will be in addition to the PGS annual meeting, board 'elections, and holiday party. Presented by Lori Coffey.
