Rudy's list: Halo There Friend! Whatcha Reading? Halo Halo, everyone! There's a new Halo TV show (and relatively new game) out nowadays, and so I figure it's a great time to promote some of the best parts of the Halo franchise...the books! If you're wondering "what on earth is Halo and what is this guy talking about?" Worry not, because I can explain! Halo is an extremely popular video game franchise that has been around for a long while now. It has lots of games, a huge fanbase, and now a TV show. Essentially, it's the story of space marines fighting aliens. But, the lore of Halo is actually very cool and worth checking out. In my opinion, the books are the best way to get started. So, I've tossed in two tiles here, which I have absolutely adored. The first book in the series, The Fall of Reach, can be enjoyed completely without any prior knowledge about Halo. In fact, I know a few people who consider this as one of their top favorite books of all time, and they have never played a halo game. Happy readings! |

Silent storm
by Troy Denning
2526. It has been almost a year since humanity engaged in its destructive first contact with a theocratic military alliance of alien races known as the Covenant. Now the hostilities have led to open war, and the United Nations Space Command understands virtually nothing about its new enemy. There are only two certainties--the Covenant is determined to eradicate humanity, and they have the superior technology to do just that. The UNSC's only hope lies with the Spartans: enhanced super-soldiers trained from childhood via a clandestine black-ops project to be living weapons.

Carlos' List: So, Your Romance Didn't End the Way You Wanted It To? Ya ever follow a romance manga or anime for years and love every minute of it right until the protagonist confesses their love for a character that makes absolutely no sense for them to pair off with? It should've been Miku dangit 😭! But if you've been in that boat, you know how long that ache can last for and how quickly you need to move onto another series that will give you that surge of serotonin. The titles below should do just the trick should you have been thwarted by another series recently, most should be completed or nearing completion. |
