2026 Suzanne Cutler Teen Writing Contest June 8th - August 3rd The Annual Suzanne Cutler Teen Creative Writing Contest is back! Individuals ages 12-18 by August 31, 2026 are invited to create an original short story or poem. Prizes will be awarded for each type of submission and each age group. Winners will receive a published copy of the works submitted.

Audiobook Club Tuesdays in July 11:00-12:00pm Want the enjoyment of joining a book club without having to read the book ahead of time? Spend your mornings at our audiobook club! Each Tuesday, we'll listen to an hour of an audiobook while working on silent activities, like coloring, knit/crochet, painting, or anything else you bring from home! Have a copy of the book? You are also welcome to read along. By the end of our series, we'll have finished the book. We'll be starting with Murder Among Friends by Candace Fleming, one of the RHS Final Four titles. No registration required.

Tonight's workshop will focus on how the basics of crafting a short story. Be prepared to write!

Exploring the Night Sky with Paul Cirillo Thursday, July 16th 7:00-8:00pm Learn techniques on how to identify constellations and locate planets and more in the night sky. Discover what internet resources are available to help the beginning astronomer. Included will be a demonstration of using a star map to help you explore the sky, as well as how easy it is to view the International Space Station and satellites without the need for a telescope! For teens & adults.

Transformed Textile Club: Embroidery Monday, July 20th 7:00-8:00pm Join our Transformed Textile Club this summer for a series of activities that encourages teens upcycle, or to re-use and re-purpose old clothing items rather than buy new. At our final July meeting, we will learn how to use embroidery to repair holes in clothing and turn a fashion faux-pas into something stylish. If you have a piece of clothing at home with a hole in it, please bring it with you.

Unearth an Animation: Pop-Up Stop Motion Exploration Studio Tuesday, July 21st 4:00-5:30pm Join Educator Tracy Fox, of Memory Vessel Studio and learn how to create a story with stop-motion animation. This program will prove to be great fun and what an amazing skill to gain! No experience needed—just a curiosity and a willingness to see what happens when paper, shapes and ideas start to move!
