Red, White & Broadway
Directed by Professor Gil Harel,
the group will chronicle American history
through songs from 1776, Ragtime, Assassins, and Hamilton.
This performance uses part-harmony and storytelling
to explore the narratives that have shaped the nation
over the last two and a half centuries
and is guaranteed to dazzle and delight listeners
Musical Director: Gil Harel (PhD, Brandeis University) a frequent virtual presenter for BTL,
is a Professor of Music at Naugatuck Valley Community College,
where he has been presented with the AFT "Merit Award for Exemplary Service to the College"
for 4 consecutive years. In 2020, he was honored with the coveted
Connecticut Board of Regents (BOR) Teaching Award. At NVCC,
Dr. Harel conducts the college chorale, a cappella ensemble, teaches music history
and theory, and serves as musical director of theater productions.
