"Using Everyday Documents
to Understand an Ancestor's
Military Service"
with
Lisa Kerr Ilowite
Like so many of you, Lisa is not a military expert.
She says "this presentation will help us 'mere mortals' to understand what our ancestors did in the military. She plans to use three examples, one each from the War of 1812, the Civil War, and the Napoleonic War
(a Scottish soldier in this non-U.S. conflict).
We will learn how to use everyday documents to learn
what he did, where he served, and how his military
experience fit into the overall history of the war.
