Dennis reached out this past week to let me know FamilySearch has once again made improvements to their web site; and already his presentation needed updating!
He wanted to make us aware how some of the changes affect research techniques.
Work through this step-by-step process to familiarize yourself:
2. Key in your comune or village (e.g. Lioni). It should autofill ‘Italy, Avellino, Lioni’. Press the Search button.
3. One item will be shown – ‘Italy, Avellino, Lioni - Civil registration ( 1 )’
Click on it and then click on the title that comes up:
Registri dello stato civile di Lioni (Avellino), 1809-1910, 1926
Author: Lioni (Avellino). Ufficio dello stato civile
4. There will be a red listing:
“Records of Italy, Avellino, Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, Civil Registration (Tribunale) are available online, click
here.”
5. When Dennis spoke with FHIG he recommended clicking here to get to the records that are online. In some cases the information you seek may not be online, but may be on the microfilm.
6. If you scroll down to the microfilm numbers there is now a little camera beside many of them. Click on the camera and the microfilm will be ready for browsing. (He prefers this method because you have greater control over your research.)
7. Also, the feature has been added to see multiple pages as thumbnails.

A couple of people were interested in Scandinavian research.
