So much of what she had to share about preparing for and visiting an archive or repository is best practice for institutions of that kind anywhere, not just here in New Jersey. Want to explore her marvelous NJ State Library Genealogy Research Guide? Find that here. - We learned about Reclaim the Records from Regina. A non-profit organization and activist group that advocates for greater transparency and accessibility for genealogical, archival, and vital records in the United States. Wikipedia The recently 'freed' New Jersey Death Index is a terrific example of their work. Connect to them on Facebook.
- Regina mentioned Ancestry Library Edition (ALE) several times during her presentation. ALE is licensed for 'in-Library' use only at Bernards Township Library and elsewhere.
'Research' then choose 'Genealogy.' Once found, records can be sent via email for saving at home. Alternatively you may wish to use your own computer in the Library, logged in on the Library's wireless network, and save items directly. I hope you will explore these resources and come back to FHIG to tell us about the genealogical gems you found. Happy searching! Ruth

Do you have ancestors who lived, and potentially served in military roles, in British Commonwealth countries? Fold3 Library Edition now has Commonwealth record sets for you to explore. Fold3 is licensed for use by anybody in the Library and for from home or office use by Bernards Township Library cardholders.
