We will explore creative writing such as fiction, poetry, etc. All skill levels are welcome. We will participate in writing prompts and critiquing personal work. Sharing one's own work is not required, but is highly encouraged. Please bring your own materials: no personal work over 5 pages.

Summer Reading Kick-Off "Touch-a-Truck" Saturday, June 3, 11:00 am Freedom Park Welcome to the world of big rigs and heavy machinery for young and old alike to see up close! This year's summer reading kick- off celebration is a Touch-a-Truck! Once you have registered for the summer reading program and received an armband, you will have the opportunity to explore exhibits like fire trucks, law enforcement vehicles, bulldozers, agricultural machinery, and military vehicles. You will also have the opportunity to meet the men and women who build, protect, and serve our community with these amazing machines. This community event will also feature family fun entertainment, public safety information, healthy eating information, mascots, face painting, and other fun activities.

Youth Art Exhibit Thursday, June 29 through July 31 Rotunda Calling all children and teen artists! The Henderson County Public Library will host a Youth Art Exhibit in the upstairs Rotunda Gallery beginning Thursday, June 29 and ending Monday, July 31.Painters, pencil/pen artists, graphic designers, sculptors, Lego building enthusiasts - whatever the medium, the library encourages artists to bring it in for the community to enjoy. Art should be submitted by Thursday, June 15, along with a completed artist information sheet that is available at the library. Up to three items, appropriately mounted for display, will be allowed per artist. A special reception for the artists and the general public will be held on Thursday, June 29, 5:30 at 7:00 p.m.

This session will cover how to navigate the start menu, personalize Windows, work with the desktop, maximize Windows apps, work with files and folders, as well as how to access the Internet using the new Microsoft Edge.
