I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! … When I have a house of my own, I shall
be miserable if I have not an excellent library. ― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Happy 2018!
Our theme this year is Building Community and we hope to do that throughout the year with a variety of interesting classes and educational experiences for everyone.
Local artist Pierre Bernay starts the year off with Painting the Antarctic on Friday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. Hear about his journey to Antarctica to paint plein air. He and his son enjoyed the trip and painting the icy scenery while outside! Besides describing this fascinating journey he will include pictures of his work. Enroll online or at the library.
Cranbury is a reading community and the library would like to celebrate that fact with aBook Swap Party on Thursday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. You are invited to bring a wrapped book (used, in good condition is fine) to swap with others at our party! Each person will choose a wrapped book. When the book is unwrapped the giver can say what they liked about the title or why they wanted to share it with others. Guests should also bring a list of five titles to recommend to fellow readers. This is a great way to hear what others are reading and what might interest you. Book group participants should find a great selection of titles to bring back to their various groups. And since this is a party we’ll have refreshments and time to mingle and share favorite reads with your neighbors. Please RSVP online or at the library. To start the ball rolling here are my favorite reads of 2017:
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
Lab Girl by Hope Jahren
The Nix by Nathan Hill
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney
Come to the party and I’ll tell you why.
