Weekly Schedule & Programs Offered
This summer we are excited to offer a variety of programs ranging from exploring your creative side to answering the big questions you have always been curious about through science experiments and hands-on activities. All programming is free to attend. Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. All programs are open for drop in basis with the exception of Reading Help and Funday Friday.

Crafty Kids Mondays | 10:30am - 12:00pm A dynamic crafting program that is designed to provide your child with the chance to explore various creative projects on a weekly basis that they can take home. Club SMPL Mondays | 1:30am - 3:00pm Combining technology, toys, and LEGO, this two-hour session offers kids the freedom to experiment and play with various items in an unstructured environment. It's a drop in session, so participants are welcome to join or leave the group at any time. Reading Help Tuesdays | 10:00am - 12:30pm Wednesdays | 10:30am - 12:00pm & 1:30pm - 3:00pm Enjoy a complimentary 30-minute tutoring session with Ben, our Summer Program Coordinator. During these sessions, school-age children will engage in activities aimed at enhancing their language and vocabulary skills. To participate, children and parents are required to book a 30-minute time slot, available no earlier than one week in advance. Please note that this program operates on a scheduled basis and is not a drop-in event. Discovery Den Tuesdays | 1:30pm - 3:00pm Join us for a program that is dedicated to exploring various topics and answering questions you've always been curious about. Through engaging hands-on STEM activities and inquiry-based learning, we will delve into children generated based inquiries and more! PLEASE NOTE: All programs will be run at the St. Marys Public Library in the upstairs meeting space (signage with directions will be posted).

Stream Safari with Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) Friday July 12th at 10:00am at the Lion's Pavilion (Milt Dunnell Field - The Flats) Join us at the Discover the wonders of a mini safari right here in St. Mary's with Stream Safari hosted by the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA)! Dive into the fascinating world of underwater creatures like crayfish, dragonfly nymphs, and predacious diving beetles. We'll use dip nets and identification sheets to explore these benthic inhabitants in our local waters. Join us for an adventure in shallow water (about 15cm deep), so bring rubber boots and be ready for some mosquitoes. Stream Safari happens rain or shine, except in severe weather. Get ready to explore with us!
We will discover nature we can find in our community and how to be good stewards of the Earth. Meets us at the Lion's Pavilion by Milt Dunnell Field (the Flats) at 10:00am and be prepared for the weather! Registration opens at 7:00am on the Monday before the event.

How to Track Your Reading Beanstack Information Create a Beanstack account to begin tracking ASAP. Kids are welcome to track before the summer program starts to earn tickets for pre-summer prizes. Don't forget, adults and teens can sign up for chances to win prizes, too; each month, we give away a $30 gift card to one lucky adult and teen! To pre-register for the Summer Challenge, create or login to your Beanstack account. On your home page, you will see there are two levels of Summer Program reading tracking: Jr. aimed at kids 0-5 years, and Sr. aimed at kids 6-12 years. Please choose the challenge that you feel best suits your child(ren)'s reading level.
