Thursday, November 9th, 6:30 pm: Author Talk: You Don’t Look Like Me, You Don’t Talk Like Me: Finding Common Ground in a Multicultural World by Beth Lincoln Sponsored by Friends & Foundation, St. Helena Public Library. Refreshments will be served. This discussion will give insights on how to resolve conflict when beliefs, values and cultures differ and how to find balance in our multicultural world As a speaker, Beth has traveled extensively, sharing her broad understanding and inspiring others to strive for cultural competence in providing sensitive and effective health care. Beth is a Family Nurse Practitioner with the Napa Valley Family Medical Group in St Helena, and teaches Transcultural Nursing at Pacific Union College.

Using film clips from PBS “The Vietnam War,” a 10 part television series by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, Greene will review key turning points before, during, and after the conflict; the false premises of the war; oft repeated errors; and the inexcusable loss of life.

Through photos and stories, discover the architectural and historical significance of this special local landmark.
