This season we are thrilled to welcome talented writers, creators and local personalities.
On September 18 we will welcome Kelly Anderson and Laurie Petrou. Kelly's debut novel The Wild Beneath was recently selected as the August Book Pick for Reese's Book Club and a selection of The Booksellers' List Summer 2026. Her novel is a spellbinding story of soulmates, homecoming, and the bonds that tie us to the natural world. Laurie Petrou returns to the series with her new novel, The Rayburn Affair, a story filled with the complexities of female friendship and the inticing nature of fame and desire. We are over the moon to welcome bestselling local author, Laurie Petrou back to the series.
October 23 brings Tara Gereaux and Amanda Peters to the Author Series. These novels both highlight the value that comes from passing down knowledge through generations and how it frames our connection to who we are. Tara Gereaux's Wild People Quiet is an utterly immersive story of a woman's decision to hide her Metis identity while living in a small prairie town when one day all that changes. It is a national bestseller. Amanda Peters is the author of bestselling novel, The Berry Pickers. We are overjoyed to welcome Amanda back to the Grimsby Library with her newest novel, The Birthing Tree, the story of one woman's journey through love and loss when her grandmother’s death leaves her as the only guide to her community’s future.
For our final event of the season on November 27, we welcome two Canadian icons: Mary Berg and Hazel Mae. Mary Berg is a Canadian television host, author and cook. She was the winner of the third season of MasterChef Canada and returned as a judge in 2025. Mary is currently the host of The Good Stuff With Mary Berg; this will be her fourth cookbook. We will also welcome Hazel Mae, the TV Sports Broadcaster and Host. Her memoir, Before I Let You Go: My Life in Broadcasting, Baseball, and Beyond spans her chilhood in the Philippines to becoming a long-time Sportsnet reporter for the Toronto Blue Jays.
