Scholastic has launched a free supported streaming service, with no subscription fees, featuring educational and entertainment content geared toward children. These picture books help inspire your student’s learning journey. All of these books are written by Native authors about Native protagonists, and many feature illustrations by Native artists, as well. WTTW and PBS have curated FREE, curriculum-aligned videos, interactives, lesson plans, and more just for Illinois teachers like you.

Interested in scheduling a storytime, booktalk, or database demonstration? Students can enjoy fun-filled stories, songs, activities, presentations, and more at a classroom visit. Regularly scheduled visits can take place at the library or in your classroom. Contact us and request a visit by providing your name, the grade you teach, the type of visit you like, the unit/theme, date, and time availability. We are also able to attend evening events, such as Family Reading Nights, where we can distribute information about our library services and programs, as well as register students and their families for library cards. |

Access Video on Demand: Just For Kids is a great tool for early elementary students. Just For Kids features videos on a variety of subjects, including math, science, and history. What's more, they're all from well-known and respected producers, such as Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, and PBS. From the home page, you can see featured videos for early learners, homework help, and TV shows. By clicking on the hamburger menu on the top-left corner, you can browse by subjects, popular categories, and featured producers. Just For Kids is a great supplement to any lesson plan.
