New Microfilm in the Genealogy Room! The McHenry Library now has some new microfilm thanks to the McHenry County Historical Society! The Society is downscaling its microfilm collection and graciously offered eleven new microfilm reels to the library. Some of the latest collections include: 1860 Mortality Schedule for McHenry County 1880 Manufacturer's Census for McHenry County Survey of McHenry County Post Offices Dating Back to 1877

January 17, 2025 @ 10am Hosted by the McHenry Library and the McHenry County Genealogical Society Registration Starts on Dec 15 @ 9 am Join genealogists from the McHenry Library and the McHenry County Genealogical Society to learn how to start researching your own family history. Topics we will cover include where to find and how to cite genealogical evidence. Also covered is the important, but often overlooked, skill of organizing your genealogical research This is the second program in a series given by the McHenry Library and the McHenry County Genealogical Society.

Librarians Katie Bradley and Carrie Zamorano will pull back the curtain to reveal the “reel story” of Woodstock’s cinematic legacy.

This group continues to explore old and new features of Family Tree Maker software, now with developer MacKiev.
