A Special Speaker, Hallie Waugh, with The Urban Poets Monday, November 17 6:00 pm Ralph Ellison LibraryTonight the Society of Urban Poets with be joined by Hallie Waugh, new MLS Poet Laureate. Her poetry has appeared in New York Quarterly and other journals. She holds an MFA and has taught poetry at the college level. She will share some of her poetry and poetry writing tips with the audience. Open Mic Poetry Night. Are you an amateur, a seasoned poet, or somewhere in between and looking for someplace to express your talent? Local poets have an opportunity to read their own work or just sit and listen to the work of other budding poets. This is a recurring event and takes place on the last Monday of each month.
