Our 2019 Summer Reading/Learning Program is coming to a close, but there's still more SPACE to explore.
If you haven't turned in a reading log, there's still time to participate. You can sign up online at: www.summerlearners.org or pick up a log in the library.
Youth:
*Return the completed log by August 31st to receive a free paperback book and a coupon to Benihana and a coupon for a free meal at Chipotle. You will also be entered into a drawing for a $1000 College Scholarship and a drawing for Giants Tickets (Giants raffle held 8/15) *Logs can be completed multiple times for more chances to win the scholarship
Adults:
*Return the completed log by August 31st to receive a raffle ticket for an Orion Telescope Kit.

Astronomy For Everyone: Size and Scale of the Universe
Wednesday, August 21 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, join us for this exciting program about the universe from the very small to the very large!
Astronomer Kevin Manning will take us on a virtual journey through the cosmos, followed by a trip outside to view celestial objects through a powerful hand-crafted telescope. This presentation is geared toward adults, but younger astronomy lovers are welcome.
There will be a raffle for a copy of the National Geographic Backyard Guide to the Night Sky, plus the ticket enters you into a raffle for the Summer Reading grand prize of an Orion telescope!
Summer in Space Film Series: Gravity (2013)

Enjoy some popcorn and candy with a screening of this Academy Award winning hit starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. All summer we've celebrated the Moon Landing in 1969. Now find out where NASA is going in the future from Kimberly Ennico-Smith, a staff scientist at NASA.
She will discuss her missions and the new ARTEMIS PROJECT with has the goal of returning humans to the Moon within five years.
This is your chance to view an actual Moon Rock from the Apollo 17 mission in person!
