LIBRARY UPDATE
 
What's new for teens
 
Teens can look forward to many great programs this fall, including D&D Club, Classics Book Club, crafts, SAT & ACT practice tests, & volunteering.
 
We welcome all students in grades 6-12 (ages 11-18) to our teen-friendly room.

EVENTS & PROGRAMS
Afterschool Lounge
Wednesdays 2:30 - 4:30 PM
In the Teen Room
Drop in on Del Mar Middle School's early release day for studying, games, and hanging out with friends. Free beverages and snacks are provided.
THURS-DIY Afterschool crafts for middle schoolers
Thursdays starting in September, 3:30-5:30 PM
In the Teen Workshop
Students in grades 6-8 are invited for Do-It-Yourself crafts. No registration needed. Bring your friends!

Classics Book Club
Saturday, October 25 at 4-5 pm

Do you love to read? Meet up to discuss classic books and earn community service credit for participating. For teens in grades 9-12. Each month, we will read and discuss a different title. Sign up online and request a copy of the book. For October, we are reading:

Halloween Costume Workshop at the Makerspace

Join our Sewing Bee! Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting, bring your current project or follow along with our seasonal craft. This month, we're hosting a Halloween Costume Workshop. Sign up!
ACT & SAT Practice Tests

Select between the ACT or SAT practice test, or try both. Register for multiple sessions now to reserve your spot (when you sign up for one session, you will have the option of registering for future dates). Free!

TEEN VOLUNTEERS
Click the button on the right to complete the online application if you are new.  Sign up for upcoming shifts.  Weekly afterschool hours are on Tuesdays.
 
A new app is available to track your community service activities. Developed by a local student, volunteers can get the NexoLink Volunteer Hub available at the Apple app store.
 
Halloween Decorating
Sunday, October 26, 1-4 pm
Teen volunteers can earn three hours of community service credit for helping to decorate the Library's "Haunted Hallway" in anticipation of children's trick-or-treat activities on Halloween. Sign up now!
