Virtual Book Club with Mojo Anderson Thursday, April 29 from 7:00-8:00pm Book Club is back at the Banff Public Library! Join us on the last Thursday of the month as we get together with Mojo Anderson to discuss different books around each month's theme. The theme for April is Travel. We will explore various places and settings from books we've enjoyed. We're all dreaming about destinations we'd love to visit or places we'd like to return. Where would you like to go? Have different landscapes or settings featured prominently in different books you have read? Get inspired to read, share your favourite books, or just enjoy the literary conversation. Mary Jo “Mojo” Anderson began her book publishing career in Toronto and went on to own an independent bookstore in Halifax, Frog Hollow Books, for almost 30 years. The store hosted hundreds of events with Canadian and international literary luminaries. Anderson produced and hosted radio and television shows including Choyce Words, a television show that spanned over a decade. She was a regular book panelist on CBC Radio and wrote a book column, as well as author profiles, for the Chronicle Herald. Since moving to Banff ten years ago, Anderson has interviewed authors at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Wordfest, continuing conversations with authors from around the world. Please register for the Virtual Book Club through our website by noon on Wednesday, April 28:

Mindy Johnstone March 16 - April 30 Banff Public Library is pleased to feature the work of local artist Mindy Johnstone from March 16-April 30. The various pieces on display were used as thematic demos in Mindy's popular Paint Night classes over the last year. Each work was painted twice by Mindy, once before and once during class. Mindy's Paint Night sessions are 2-hour guided, step-by-step classes that help students to paint their own original works of art. This past year has allowed students the opportunity to create work from the comfort of their own homes and many continue to join from across the country. Students within the community have access to art rental kits which makes it even easier for them to participate. If one of these colourful pieces catches your eye, take heart in knowing that 30% of the proceeds will be donated to the Library. Please contact Mindy directly at 403.763.8247 for inquiries. For more information about Mindy's work and her classes, please visit her website.
