Question time
It's Friday night. You don't feel like reading and you're in the mood for a movie. What's it gonna be?

Last week we asked you to name your most re-readable book series, the one you would take with you into your doomsday bunker. Harry Potter, Discworld, Lord of the Rings, and Outlander series were popular favorites, but we thought we would share some of the series that weren't as widely popular but just as deserving of your time. :)

You might find a new favorite!

New and wonderful
The Alice Network by Kate Quinn
“Strong female characters are portrayed in this historical fiction about a female spy network in France during World War I.” - Joyce, Tigard Public Library
The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo
“This magical collection of short stories takes some unexpected turns that make you eager to turn the page. The stunning illustrations offer clues to the reader as they both illustrate and tell a story of their own.” - Elizabeth, Beaverton City Library
The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian
“This is a literary murder mystery and the life of this 'big hot mess' flight attendant and her misadventures around the world kept me riveted. What I enjoyed about this story is that Bohjalian weaves a classic tale (in this case, a short story by Tolstoy called "Happy Ever After") and incorporates it as a subplot.” - Laveda, Cedar Mill Library

How Books Are Made

We've featured some books that were made into movies. How about a movie of how books are made? Enjoy this short 1947 feature from Encyclopaedia Britannica Films about the industrial process of book printing. >>
