As the year comes to a close we, the Seguin Public Libraries’ board and staff, would like to thank the Friends of the Libraries' groups, volunteers and patrons. Seguin is a beautiful community to serve and we are looking forward to what 2019 brings. Be sure to come to our branches often over these winter months and warm up with a good read. If the weather makes it difficult to visit, please check out eBooks & eAudiobooks using the OverDrive or Libby app on any device. We are happy to help you access these materials if you are unfamiliar with them.

International Gingerbread Decorating Day

20th Anniversary of Family Literacy Day

Sunday, January 27th, 2019 Family Literacy Day is a national awareness initiative created by ABC Life Literacy Canada and held annually to raise awareness of the importance of reading as a family. Taking time every day to read to your children is crucial to their development, improving their literacy skills, and can also help parents improve their skills.

The numbers are in... The four library branches of Seguin hosted 18,092 visits between January and October of 2018 and patrons borrowed 21,159 items. We assisted patrons with technology 1056 times and our public computers were used 3,566 times. We also welcomed 287 new members. It's been a busy year!

OverDrive is the app to get if you want to read or listen to an ebook from our catalogue. OverDrive can be used on all OverDrive eReading Room for Kids or Teens OverDrive has created quick access for young readers to find the books they want, right away.
