A toe in the water...
So many books to choose from. For me, it must be a book that won’t offer up anything scary, leaving no doubt that my dark staircase is not dripping with blood. But I often wonder if I’m missing out on some satisfying reads. Summer is the perfect time to encourage your students to be brave and read outside their box. Thanks to Gene Yang, a Reading Without Walls Challenge
has gone nationwide, and we can all now hitch a ride. Before you challenge your students, let them know what new reads you will try. With summer fast approaching, I promise to pick up some horror very soon. It may be a toe testing the waters, but perhaps gumption is its own reward. And we all know
that reading changes lives. Even horror :)
