If you have poked around NoveList recently, you may have noticed a new entry among our metadata: themes! Themes allow you to search for books by the popular plot lines, character types, and story conventions that fiction fans love. (We're all pretty excited about it -- see what my metadata colleague Cathleen has to say on themes in RA Tips.)
I think you'll find themes to be a huge help as you search for books that hit your book group's sweet spot. A "Top 12" of my favorite themes for book clubs is included here to get you started, but you'll definitely want to check out all the new themes for yourself. Happy reading, Halle (whose favorite theme is "Sherlock Paws")

PRO TIP: Using field codes can make searches incredibly powerful, as you learn to mix and match appeals, genres, themes, subjects, and more!
