One of the requests you shared with us in the survey this spring was for more help in increasing subscriber numbers to the NextReads newsletters. We also know that many of you create your own newsletters in LibraryAware. And while there's this great archived webcast (and accompanying blog) for ideas for boosting sign-ups, we've got a new one coming.
On Tuesday, September 26th, at 2pm EST, we'll be hosting a free webinar, with a great panel who will be talking about how to use newsletters to reach niche audiences:
- Canadian librarians will be especially interested in hearing from Catherine Coles, of the County of Lennox & Addington in Eastern Ontario.
- Librarians looking to attract young adults will want to hear from Jez Layman, of Indian Prairie PL in Darien, IL (heard of #LibSocial?)
- Follow the news? Check out ideas from Kim Cashman (Indiana's Mishawaka-Penn-Harris PL) for highlighting books mentioned in the media.
- Got comics? Try Durham County Library's Patrick Holt's ideas for an award-winning graphic novel newsletter!
Regardless of what special audiences can be found in your community, we're willing to bet you'll hear some handy tips you can apply to your own newsletters. Hope you'll join us! (If you can't make it, signing up will also give you access to the recording.)
