History Heist: Locked in the Louvre Escape Room August 6 - 8, 5:00 - 7:30 pm Grab your sneakiest friends and put your problem-solving skills to the test in our museum heist themed escape room! Look for clues, solve puzzles, and work together to steal several precious artifacts from the Louvre Museum and make your escape before time runs out.! Recommended group size is 4 to 7 players. DIY @ the Library: Kokedama Plants Thursday, August 22, 6:00 pm Make your own kokedama plant! Kokedama is the Japanese art of growing plants in a moss-covered ball of soil wrapped with string. They are often displayed on a decorative surface or hung by string in a window. Attendees should dress to get muddy! All materials provided. A free ticket is required to attend this event. Tickets may be picked up at the circulation desk on August 8th, beginning at 5:30 pm. Ages 18+

Ghost Towns of Jasper County Wednesday, August 28, 6:00 pm You might not know it, but Jasper County is full of ghost towns! Dave Baker, writer and photographer for "Iowa The 29th State" has photographed over 10,000 communities, landmarks, historic sites, and places of interest in Iowa. Baker will present on the ghost towns of Jasper County, show dozens of original photographs, and will have a variety of artifacts pertaining to Jasper County history on display.
