For Sale
by Stefan Dorra
For Sale has been in the library's collection from the very beginning because it is regarded as one of the best family games of the past 20 years. The game comes in a small, sturdy box with colorful artwork that evokes the cartoony style of casual digital games like Farmville. It's also easy to teach with an intuitive theme and competitive gameplay.
In the first round, players start with money, which they use to buy up properties of different values (ranging from a shack all the way up to a space station). In the second round, players then try to sell their properties and get the best return on their investments. At the end of the game, the player with the most money wins!
For Sale plays in about 30 minutes tops and is great for ages 8+ and can be played with younger children who partner with adults. 3-6 players can play, although it's more fun at higher player counts.
Check it out or come to Last Tuesday Game Night to give it a try.
