Bilingual Storytime in the Park
Our ninth annual camp-like event, for all ages! Enjoy storytime in Spanish and English, a free sack lunch provided by Helping Hands, outdoor activity with Sherwood YMCA, and a craft hosted by local businesses.

SUMMER READING KICK-OFF PARTY
Meet a real paleontologist who will bring a plethora of fossils and bones for kids and families to get a hands-on, interactive learning experience.

It's a goat party full of trip-trapping like the three Billy-goats gruff, and interacting with live goats! Located at Cannery Square -- corner of SW Pine and SW Columbia.

MINIATURE CASTLE MAKING CONTEST
In time for the yearly Sherwood Robin Hood Festival, show off your creativity in Sherwood Public Library's sixth annual Miniature Castle Making Contest! Submit a homemade castle 7 X 7 X 7
inches or smaller between July 1 and July 13, and it may be displayed at the library or even win an award. More rules and information at: sherwoodoregon.gov/library.
Contest runs Tuesday, July 1, through Sunday, July 13.
Winners announced Friday, July 18.
SCIENCE HEROES
Turn science into an adventure through hands-on experiments and fun, interactive stories. Located at Cannery Square --corner of SW Pine and SW Columbia.

JINGLE DRESS DANCE
Keeli Littleleaf brings her award-winning Jingle Dress Dance to us to celebrate Native American culture and tradition. Located at Cannery Square --corner of SW Pine and SW Columbia.

SUMMER ART WALK
We are a stop on the Summer Art Walk! Come by and get your passport stamped to enter a prize drawing. Visit other downtown businesses and meet local artists. The library will offer a chance to meet the artists Darla Boljat and Jesse Stephenson.

EN TAIKO
Join us for an interactive, cultural drumming experience. The word "Taiko" refers most commonly to a distinctive form of drumming that has its roots in ancient Japanese culture. Located at Cannery Square --corner of SW Pine and SW Columbia.

POOL NOODLE PONY RACES
Inspired by the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships, participants will make a horse out of a pool noodle and navigate an obstacle course. Located at Cannery Square --corner of SW Pine and SW Columbia.

Events for Youth and Family
YOUTH SUMMER READING
All ages can pick out a free book starting June 1. No registration required. Choose your reading goal and pick up a prize book when you reach it, July 15 - August 31, and enter the grand prize drawing.

READ TO THE DOG
Build reading confidence and improve reading skills by reading to a dog. The dogs and their trainer will listen with compassion and without judgment as you read to them. Sign up for a 20 minute session. Every month on the second Saturday.

ALL AGES STORYTIME

Summer Reading is back! Pick up a free book at the library starting June 1, read any book or audiobook you’d like, submit book reviews online or at the library (through August 31). Each book review enters you into weekly and grand prize drawings!

Read. Be inspired. Discuss. We are discussing Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt --  about an incredible friendship that develops between an aquarium janitor and an intelligent giant Pacific octopus who lives there. The first ten participants to register receive a free copy. NARCOLEPSY AND SLEEP DISORDERS
