Marblehead Peninsula Writing Group
January 6 & 20, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Join the Marblehead Peninsula Writing Group at their bi-monthly (twice per month) meeting! Get feedback on your own writing, provide advice for other writers, and learn more about the craft. This is a supportive group, open to all levels of writers and facilitated by an experienced writing teacher. You don't have to bring any of your own writing to share; all who are interested in writing are welcome.
Email (dkimmel@seolibraries.org) or call (419 798-0477) Dave Kimmel if you have any questions about the group!
No registration required.
A Puzzling Competition
January 13, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
If the cold of winter has you down in the dumps, we have a "puzzling" program to perk you up: a puzzle competition! We have five identical 300-piece puzzles. Participants can work as in teams or individually.  The first to complete the puzzle (or the furthest along in 50 minutes) gets our grand prize:  Two tickets to the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce's 6th Annual Wine & Chocolate Walk in February. Other prizes will be available, along with drinks and snacks. Oh, and each team gets to keep their puzzle!
No registration is required.
Crafting with Magoo: Busted Out Canvas
January 14, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Have you seen "busted out canvas" when looking for new crafts to try? Me too! A "busted" canvas looks like a canvas busted open to reveal a cool picture underneath. We are going to make a winter scene that you can use for decoration because, you know, we can always use more decorations!
No registration required, but supplies will be limited.

Paws for Reading
January 22, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Calling all kids!  Come read with our therapy dog, Sophie! Therapy dogs can reduce anxiety and improve focus & attention span. Sophie will be a nonjudgmental listener as you practice your reading and communication skills with her or have us read with you to her. Even if you are at the "pre-reading" stage and want to just tell Sophie a story, feel free to come give it a try. Bring your own book or choose one that we have available.
Space is limited to four separate 15-minute reading sessions. Registration is required and opens two weeks before the program. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
