You Will Do Great Things by Amerie
You Will Do Great Things
Written by: Amerie
Review by: Mary Kate

You Will Do Great Things is stunningly illustrated by Raissa Figueroa and penned by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Amerie. The book follows a young boy on an imaginary adventure while his mother narrates different experiences he will one day encounter. The boy's imagination showcases his mixed-race heritage where he interacts with his African American and Korean ancestors. His mother's words are ones all children, and adults, can benefit from:

"You will be the things those before us couldn't be. And you will carry in your heart the power of their dreams."
