Book Review
Sisters in the Wind
by Angeline Boulley

Review by Megan

Michigan author Angeline Boulley just published Sisters in the Wind on September 2, 2025. Her previous two novels, Firekeeper's Daughter and Warrior Girl Unearthed, were excellent. Her newest work did not disappoint! Although they are not a series, there are characters and themes that are woven into all three stories.

Lucy, the protagonist of Sisters in the Wind, is a teenager who is no stranger to hardship. After losing family members and living in the foster care system, Lucy must overcome more tragedies and challenges. Once she notices someone following her, Lucy must keep her guard up at all times. With her safety in jeopardy and connections to her past resurfacing, she must navigate secrets coming to light, protecting those she cares about, and how to seek justice.

Boulley's writing is filled with suspense, well-rounded characters, and fast-paced action. I would highly recommend all three of her young adult novels.

Banned Book Display
Why Banned Books Matter
Banned books reflect the stories, ideas, and perspectives of others that spark conversation, and sometimes controversy. Whether the books are challenged for language, subject matter, or themes. The removal of books from schools or libraries raises important questions about what we read and why.

This display is to encourage awareness around banned books: understanding the reasons behind book challenges will help us think more critically about literature, free expression, and the diverse voices represented in our collections.
