Beyond the Library Many community members have started their own book clubs and Ida Rupp Public Library is here to help. Members of these independent clubs may borrow their books from the Library. Guidelines for how to utilize Ida Rupp are listed below. Questions may be directed to Laura Vollmer at 419-732-3212.

How Ida Rupp Public Library can assist your independent book club In order to gather enough copies for your members, Ida Rupp Public Library will look to other libraries in Ohio that are part of our consortium - sister libraries in a sense. Because of high demand with their own patrons, these other libraries usually do not make current best sellers available. That is why we request that current best sellers, anything released in the last 6 months, NOT be part of your reading list. Reading lists must be submitted 3 months prior to the first meeting. This gives our staff time to locate, request and receive the books from the other libraries. Please identify a contact person for your book club and include both their phone and email information. This person must be an Ida Rupp Public Library System Card holder in good standing (no fees or fines due). Library staff will notify the contact person when books are available. The contact person can then let the individual members know the books are available. Your group can expect their books to be available five weeks prior to your meeting/discussion date and will stay on the shelf until the week of the discussion date. Each member can pick up their book using their own library card which must also be in good standing.
