I Am the Swarm

The women in Nell's family develop magic at the age of 15. Nell has always repressed her emotions to deal with her unpredictable mother, whose age changes daily, and her sister, who has music in her blood that she'll do anything to release. When Nell's magic manifests and her buried feelings emerge in the form of insects, she struggles to cope with her new predicament and with the havoc that magic has wreaked on her family.

Every year, the City of Boston partners with hundreds of community-based and nonprofit organizations across the city to provide meaningful employment to thousands of Boston youth ages 14 to 18. There are opportunities to work in a wide variety of job fields like the arts, government and advocacy, STEM, sports and recreation, childcare, education, and more!

Applications are now open, so search for your dream summer job and apply ASAP. Please note that these opportunities are for youth ages 14 to 18 who are full-time residents of the City of Boston and legally permitted to work in the United States.

Anime-Themed Teen Trivia Night
April-May 2025
 
Are you a teen into anime and manga? Test your knowledge in our upcoming Anime-Themed Trivia Night for a chance to win full weekend passes to the upcoming Anime Boston convention! This event will be taking place in the run-up to the convention, at the Central Library and six branches:
  • Grove Hall: Tue., April 29, 4:00 - 5:30 PM
  • East Boston: Thu., May 1, 3:30 - 5:30 PM
  • Mattapan: Wed., May 7, 4:00 - 5:30 PM
  • Codman Square: Thu., May 8, 3:30 - 5:30 PM
  • Roxbury: Fri., May 9, 2:00 - 3:30 PM
  • Hyde Park: Tue., May 13, 4:00 - 5:30 PM
  • Teen Central: Wed., May 14, 4:00 - 5:30 PM
Make sure to register ahead of time for your desired trivia night!
