Mask Requirement Reminder |
|
To comply with the Oregon Indoor Mask Requirement, all library staff and visitors ages 5 and older are required to wear masks while inside the library. Please remember to bring your mask when you visit! - Please put your mask on before entering the library. Masks need to remain on throughout your visit, until you are back outside.
- Masks need to cover your mouth and nose, at the same time, all of the time.
- Those who remove masks while in the library will be asked once to comply. Visitors who choose not to comply will be asked to leave.
- Per OHA, face shields are acceptable for limited duration visits: "OHA recommends wearing a face covering or mask instead of a face shield, except in limited situations when a face shield by itself is appropriate, like talking to someone who is deaf or hard of hearing and needs to read lips to communicate." If you are making a quick trip into the library, a face shield is adequate.
- Need accommodations? We are happy to bring items outside or to your vehicle. We also deliver to patrons who live within a 10-minute drive of the library (homes or apartments only; we are not able to deliver to care facilities). Please call or ask staff for details about each option.

Our first set of Kid Picks is ready to share! View them in the online catalog here. A huge thank you to all of the kids and teens who submitted reviews during the month of July! Didn't they do such a wonderful job? If you have a kid aged 8 or older who has read a book, watched a TV show or movie, listened to music, or played a game recently, we'd love if they would share their opinion about it for our next list of Kid Picks. Submit reviews online, or grab a paper form from the desk in the Children's Library!

This month's discussion will be centered around Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi - join us live on Zoom on Wednesday, September 1st from 6:30-7:30pm to talk about this sweeping, emotionally resonant portrait of the forces that shape families and nations. It traces the family tree of two half-sisters born into different villages in Ghana. The chapters alternate between focusing on descendants of each sister, following them for six generations up to the present, in Ghana and the United States.

There's more going on at the library than just what we've got room for in this issue of our newsletter! Visit our online calendar to check out what we have scheduled this month for all ages.
