Color Your World With Summer Reading!

Hey Gang!

Samm here with announcements and other good stuff.

  • Bobby's series on crafting short stories for publication continues Monday July 7th @6pm.

  • Meeting Ideas: Last meeting, we talked about some ways to spend our Fall meetings. It was suggested that we use an October meeting to tell/share spooky stories, and a November meeting for a Friendsgiving. We would do Friendsgiving similarly to how we've done our Holiday Social & Potluck, reserving some space for people to workshop pieces if they would like to. If you have ideas on ways to spice up our meetings, send them my way!

  • SciFi/Fantasy PLUS is BACK! Spend the day at the library Saturday July 19th for geeky and nerdy fun, including an interactive showing of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (think Rocky Horror Picture Show, but goofy time travel), panels, a costume contest, and many more activities for kids and adults!

  • Our next regular meeting is Saturday July 26 @10:30am. As usual, if you need to send something for me to print or put up on the screen, please do so by the Wednesday before we meet to be sure I see it!

  • Saturday September 20th we will have a double guest appearance by Gary and Rebecca Minder. Gary is the author of The Education of Asa Paxton, a historical fiction YA novel. Rebecca is his publicist and director of Alabama Heritage Magazine. They'll be sharing pro tips on marketing and getting your name and book out there. You don't want to miss this one!

  • The library will be closed Friday July 4th. We will reopen for regular business hours Saturday at 10am. Have a fun and safe holiday weekend!

    That's all for now!

A diary, written in 1912 by a Lutheran pastor is discovered within a wall. What it unveils is a slow massacre, a chain of events that go back to 217 Blackfeet dead in the snow. Told in transcribed interviews by a Blackfeet named Good Stab, who shares the narrative of his peculiar life over a series ofconfessional visits.
