Hey Gang!

Samm here with announcements and other good stuff.

  • Bobby's series  Crafting Short Stories continues Monday August 4th @6pm. It's never too late to jump in and learn new tricks! This month's topics will include:
    • Professionally presenting yourself to editors
    • Writing query letters
    • How to approach an agent
    • Story workshopping
  • Our next regular meeting is Saturday August 23rd @10:30am. As usual, if you need to send something for me to print or put up on the screen, please do so by the Wednesday before we meet to be sure I see it!

  • Saturday September 20th we will have a double guest appearance by Gary and Rebecca Minder. Gary is the author of The Education of Asa Paxton, a historical fiction YA novel. Rebecca is his publicist and director of Alabama Heritage Magazine. They'll be sharing pro tips on marketing and getting your name and book out there. You don't want to miss this one!

  • For our meeting on Saturday October 18th we're going to try a fun writing exercise suggested by a Write Clubber! For this meeting, please bring a story that is spooky, supernatural, or otherwise October-y.

  • Saturday November 15th's meeting will be a hybrid workshopping and potluck affair! I'll set up our usual roundtable on one side of the meeting rooms and tables for us to put dishes on in the other. This way, we can have a holiday Friendsgiving meal together and still have space to work on our stories. If we like doing a potluck with the room for workshopping, we can do it this way at December's Holiday Social too!

    That's all for now!
