Inspiritus is partnering with The Welcoming Table to start a knitting group for refugee women on Thursdays from 9:30-11:30am at Trinity West Homewood (914 Oak Grove Rd). Our goal for the group is to provide a safe space for women to spend time with each other and enjoy a shared activity. We are looking for volunteer women to knit with us and play with young kids (ages 0-4)! The group will run September 22-December 15, and we ask that you try to commit to at least 3 Thursdays per month. All women are welcome, regardless of your knitting or crocheting abilities. We may need help with transportation to and from the group some weeks and will add you to a WhatsApp group to communicate each week. Please contact Danielle Gomez, refugee mental health coordinator, at danielle.gomez@weinspirit.org or 205-475-6310 to learn more or get involved. If you know someone who may be interested, please share the attached flyer and have them contact Jessica Naccari at jessica.naccari@weinspirit.org - we'd love to have them join!
