Join us on the Library Plaza for crafting fun. Make new friends and start/finish new projects. Don't forget to bring something for show-and-tell! Amazing projects, news, and tips: Big News: Charlie Major is retiring as Beth's service dog! He can now be cuddled and loved on 24/7 (but won't be as welcome inside the library.) Let's celebrate Charlie by bringing old towels/blankets and newspapers to be donated to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society in his name! He's been the best and deserves the honor of BEST DOGGO!! If you bring materials, I will make sure GBHS receives it. (Treats and dog toys also welcome!) I'm still selling Purl tee shirts. Bring cash or check made out to the Hoover Library. For sizes Small through XLarge, the cost is $12.75 for each shirt. 2XL=$16.00; 3XL=$18.25, 4XL=$19.50, 5XL=$21.50, 6XL=$23.50. FACEBOOK CHALLENGE: For everyone posting pictures on Purl on the Plaza's Facebook page of works-in-progress, finished projects, or door prizes won at Purl, there will be a secret drawing for a gift certificate to East 59 Cafe! Please post! No limits to how many you can share. Please consider joining the Greater Birmingham Fiber Guild which meets prior to the Purl on the Plaza, 2nd Saturday of each month. They have fabulous workshops and demonstrations! They meet from 10 am to 2 pm at the Hoover Church of Christ, 3248 Lorna Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35216 (map). Dues are just $25/year. Check out their blog here.
