A Circle of Friends
Icons - St. Patrick's Day Books with Clovers - Green
Are you a wee bit tired of snow boots, shoveling, and chipping ice from your windshield? The Friends of the Ventress Memorial Library have just the answer. A rumor is circulating that at this very moment leprechauns are tunneling through the snow headed to the Book Shop bearing a treasure trove of puzzles! Yes, you heard us right. Along with a fresh supply of fiction and nonfiction, puzzles of all shapes, kinds, and levels of difficulty will soon be available for your amusement and delight; and you won’t need gold doubloons to purchase them, just a dollar or two each. Let’s be honest, this winter has been a doozy. What better way to while away a cold, snowy afternoon than challenging yourself with a puzzle? Pop some popcorn, dump out the pieces, and let the family work together. No electricity? No problem! If you do have power, take a break from the screens and watch how your mind slows down and focuses. Stop in and stock up.Thank you leprechauns! Remember, every dollar goes to support our library.

March’s Auction Table theme is Spring Fever: It’s time to start thinking about Easter traditions, baseball’s opening day, and planning your garden.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the Friends!

February Event Wrapup
The library was full of hands-on activities in February! We enjoyed a clay flower sculpting class, a crochet amigurumi event, and a winter sowing gardening workshop!

Docs and Discussion
March 2nd, 6:00pm

New for 2026! Docs and Discussion is a monthly program featuring a short documentary, followed by community discussion.

This month's movie will be Landfill Harmonic: A Symphony of the Human Spirit.

This film festival favorite follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical group that plays instruments made entirely out of garbage. When their story goes viral, the orchestra is catapulted into the global spotlight. Under the guidance of idealistic music director Favio Chavez, the orchestra must navigate a strange new world of arenas and sold-out concerts. However, when a natural disaster strikes their country, Favio must find a way to keep the orchestra intact and provide a source of hope for their town. The film is a testament to the transformative power of music and the resilience of the human spirit.

Note: because this movie is longer (1 hour and 25 minutes), we will be starting the film right at 6, and discussion time will be limited.
