Teen Magic BagsThursday, July 9, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Pick up a bag full of magic and creativity each Thursday at the Grass Valley, Madelyn Helling, and Truckee Libraries. These Magic Bags will contain Henna, a powder used to create temporary tattoos. Learn about the cultural and historical significance of Henna while making your own designs at home. First come, first served, as there is a limited amount available each week.

Teen Book Discussion and PanelWednesday, July 22, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Racial Literacy refers to practices of racial socialization and anti-racism. Please join us for a panel discussion based on Racial Literacy topics found in the books "Stamped" by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds and/or "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah. The library has ordered both teen titles in order to be handed out to tweens and teens during Summer Lunches, but due to a surge in popularity of these titles, they may not be available by the panel date. Books can also be found on Overdrive as well as being placed on hold for curbside pick up. "Stamped From the Beginning," the book that the teen version "Stamped" is based upon, is currently available to listen to for free on Spotify. For ages 12-18.
