Experience the solar eclipse as a community at Wright Library on April 8!
Activities begin at 1:30 p.m.
Watch the eclipse right here in Oakwood at Katharine Wright Park.
Make a souvenir button; bring a cereal box to make a pinhole viewer (we’ll have the foil and other materials/instructions); get creative with sidewalk chalk while we wait for the big event!
Bring your own eclipse glasses or eclipse viewer. We will not be distributing glasses at this event.
The Wright Library building will be closed 2:45-3:45 p.m. so staff can join the outdoor event to witness the eclipse.
Join us for a live performance preview of Dayton Live Creative Academy's production of Disney’s The Descendants. Follow the children of Disney’s favorite heroes, heroines, evil villains, and troubled sidekicks as they make their way through high school. For all ages.
Race around the world without leaving the library! Teams will be challenged to travel the world—while inside the library after it’s closed. Solve puzzles and make creative projects while trying to be the first team to finish! For grades 7-12. Please gather in vestibule at the rear door of the library to enter. Advance registration is required. Register here.
April 25 James Garfield Book Talk The History Mystery Book Club will discuss on "Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine, and the Murder of a President."
The Wright Library Memory Digitization Lab is a do-it-yourself opportunity for patrons to use special equipment to convert personal documents, photographs, slides, film negatives, 8mm and Super8 film, VHS and audio cassettes to digital files.
