Read Around the World with SML!
 
Children are invited to travel the globe at Shreve Memorial Library and "Read Around the World," as the library hosts a series of multicultural storytime programs, inspiring all to travel around the world through the pages of picture books set in various countries across the globe. Throughout the month of March, children and their families are encouraged to visit the library for fun, engaging and interactive storytime programs featuring stories of diverse cultures, unique characters and faraway places. Programs take place at Shreve Memorial Library branches throughout Caddo Parish.

Battle Zone Laser Tag at West Shreveport Mar. 12 
 
Have you ever experienced playing laser tag in a library? Well, now is your chance! Come to the West Shreveport Branch and have a great time in a friendly game of Battle Zone Laser Tag! Visit the branch for an electrifying laser tag experience where quick reflexes, smart strategy, and teamwork lead to victory. Come alone or bring a friend! The fun starts on Thursday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. Registration is not required. Click for details.
Fit for the Cure Events Mar. 12 & 23
 
The Hollywood/Union Avenue and Cedar Grove-Line Avenue Branches will host Fit for the Cure bra fitting events, in support of breast cancer awareness. The explain why bra fittings are important and how to get the most support from your bra. Events will take place on March 12 at 12:00 p.m. at the Hollywood/Union Avenue Branch and on March 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cedar Grove-Line Avenue Branch. Click here for more details.
Spring Break Fun at the Library
 
Being out of school have you bored? Never fear, the library is here! Visit your favorite branch of Shreve Memorial Library this week to make the most of your Spring Break! Make a spring kite at the Atkins Branch, a cool craft at the Mooringsport Branch, or spend the day at the David Raines Branch's Video and Board Game Bash! With fun games, awesome movies, and amazing crafts, there is no limit to what you can dream, discover, do at the library.
Spotlight: CBF 2026 Author Lincoln Peirce
Lincoln Peirce is a cartoonist and writer from Portland, Maine. His comic strip, Big Nate, was syndicated in 1991 and currently appears in over 400 newspapers worldwide. He is also the author and illustrator of a series of New York Times bestselling novels based on his comic strip. His bestselling Max & the Midknights trilogy, completed in 2022, is a comedic adventure story set in the Middle Ages. Both Big Nate and Max & the Midknights became animated series produced by Nickelodeon. Lincoln lives with his wife Jessica, an artist. They have two children.

March is Women's History Month, and Shreve Memorial Library is celebrating women who are leading the change for a sustainable future. Join us this month to celebrate women who have left their mark on history, those who are advocating for the future, and those who have been influential in our lives.
