In it you will find tools and technology for learning, exploring, designing, creating, and innovating. Let your imagination run! Creative Clothing Construction: VMFA Fashion Institute Mixed Media Workshop The focus of this workshop is to give students, grades 6 – 12, the opportunity to create a wearable piece of art that explores cultural trends, nontraditional materials, and fine art processes. Similar to the Project Runway design style, students make wearable art by reconstructing clothing, found objects, and recycled materials. Inspiration comes from the VMFA collection, artists, and fashion designers. Workshop attendance also gives students a snapshot of the annual Teen Stylin’ runway show held each year in December and open to all teens living in Virginia. Registration is required. "The Tell-Tale Heart" Mock Trial with the Poe Museum Join us for a special evening at the Library in celebration of the life and works of Edgar Allen Poe. A speaker from The Poe Museum will discuss Poe's life and perform a dramatic reading of "The Tell-Tale Heart." The audience will then engage in a lively debate in the form of a mock trial to determine whether or not the defendant is guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity.
