Fake News, Filters, & Falsehoods: Navigating Information Overload in the 21st Century

We live in an age of information overload. Despite increased public awareness, “fake news” continues to be a growing and evolving problem. Join Dan Chibnall, STEM Librarian at Drake University, as he shares strategies for navigating the rivers of information. In this online presentation, Chibnall will discuss the roots of the misinformation problem, how to become more aware of the problems in everyday life, and provide solutions to these problems. You will learn how to better separate fact from fiction and approach sources with an objective eye—essential information literacy skills needed in today’s society.
