September in the Children's Area Hello friends! A huge thank you and congratulations to the almost 700 Kids Summer Readers! It was an amazing summer celebrating reading with nearly 75 programs during the six weeks of Oceans of Possibility Summer Reading! Thanks to our sponsors and supporters for our raffles and prizes too! A fresh new season is upon us with lots of changes approaching from leaves to schedules and everything in between. Be sure to take time to find balance in your busy fall days. You and your family can embrace all things fall, by exploring the outdoors to find signs of the changing season. Why do leaves change color? Build a birdhouse or bird feeder. Why do some animals hibernate? Dissect an apple. Speaking of apples, be sure to join Miss Windy for the Kid's Table presents An Apple a Day on Saturday, September 17 at 10:30 am in the Story Time Room. Registration is preferred, however, walk-ins are welcomed as space allows. See our Manlius Library Events Calendar to register and for further details. Peek at the new lineup for our fall season of programming! Do you have a tween that loves snacking and reading? Be sure to have them join our Snack Attack Tween Book Club on the first Saturdays at 1:30 pm this fall. Each registrant will receive a copy of the book prior to the club meeting date to read and note all the great moments in the book. At our club meeting we will share our favorite (and perhaps not so favorite parts) and creat a snack to attack! Our first book is How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell. Again, check out our events calendar (link above) to register for your book and join the fun with Miss Windy & Miss Phoenix. Be sure to drop in and share the signs of fall you have discovered. Be your BEST self! Miss Windy
