Rockin' Through History: Education & Research at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 
Thursday, August 16

You've heard about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and its inductees, and you may have even visited the museum, but the Rock Hall has a lot more to offer! This fun and informative program--presented by Museum and Library & Archives staff--will delve into the exciting history of rock through the 50s and 60s and will highlight some of the services and resources the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame offers to preserve and teach that history.

Financial Aid 101 for High School Seniors and Their Parents 
Monday, August 27
7:00 pm 
Our speaker, Jeff Johnston, from Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) will give an overview of the financial aid system and process for high school seniors. Expect to learn about important financial aid deadlines that must be met your senior year of high school as well as scholarships, grants, and other options to pay for college. You will leave with valuable tips on how to navigate the financial aid system. 
AARP Smart Driver Course 
Wednesday, September 5 
9:30 am – 2:00 pm 
Take the AARP Smart Driver Course and you could reduce your overall maintenance and car insurance costs! Registration starts at 9:15 AM with the class starting promptly at 9:30 AM. Please bring check or cash to the class ($15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members). There will be a 30-minute break for lunch; please bring a bag lunch. 
Putting the Garden to Bed

Our speaker from OSU Extension Master Gardener Program will discuss fall clean-up, composting, soil testing, amending the soil, and mulch for winter protection – all of which will help your garden to have a good winter nap. Pruning will also be reviewed. 
The Tween Scene

This independent, self-paced program is designed to develop and encourage good reading habits and develop early literacy skills in children from birth to Kindergarten.  Call or stop by the Children’s desk for more information.

Kick Off to Kindergarten

All children entering Kindergarten this fall (with a caregiver) are invited to join us for a Kindergarten Readiness Program which will include a story time followed by readiness stations to explore.  Registration requested. 
Nature Academy: Insects 
Saturday, August 25 at 10:00 am 
The North Chagrin Nature Center will visit our library to explore insects. Enjoy a story, exciting hands-on exploration, and a craft.  All ages are welcome to join us.  Registration requested.
