1,000 Books Before Kindergarten for ages 5 and under
We know that the more often children hear books read to them, the more prepared they are to read on their own when they start kindergarten. This program encourages you to read at least 1,000 books to your child between birth and the time they start kindergarten. Your child will receive rewards for every 100 books that are read. Register today on Beanstack and start logging!

Family Book ClubMonday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. Each month, we will host a Family Book Club meeting in which we play fun games and activities related to some of the most beloved children's book series. In September, we are exploring the Dragon Masters series! Adopt a dragon, make your own dragon stone necklace, talk about the series with friends, and so much more!

Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. Kids are invited to bring their bikes or scooters and their helmets to learn about bike safety from MUSC representatives and then practice on a course. This event is designed for ages 5 to 10 years old. All participants will be required to sign a waiver. Please meet us at the Miriam Brown Center in the Old Village for this event!

Monday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. Grow your knowledge of plants, meet fellow garden lovers, and enjoy hands-on gardening activities at this new program for adults. We’ll make plant markers and discuss plans for this club at our first meeting.

Saturday, Sept. 20 at 10:45 a.m. Yoga for Kids blends playful activities, storytelling, and yoga poses to nurture physical fitness, mindfulness, and creativity in a supportive environment. This session is for ages 5-12.

Tummy Time (ages 0-2) Every Friday from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Engage infants and babies in assisted tummy time activities before Storytime! Local experts will occasionally be present to give advice and resources related to family planning and care. Baby Storytime (ages 0-2) Every Friday at 11 a.m. Join us every Friday at Village Library for Baby Storytime. We will read books, sing songs, and do different activities for children two years old and under! Family Storytime (ages 0-5) Every Thursday at 10 a.m. Family Storytime occurs every Thursday and targets ages 0-5 to build early literacy skills. During this Storytime, we read books, sing songs, and engage in different learning activities related to literacy.
