What's Happening in December?
Magic Mailbox
Saturday, November 22-December 31
 
Special delivery! Children are invited to use their imagination and practice their writing skills by writing a letter to a magical being and mailing it with our Magic Mailbox. If you could write to a mermaid or leprechaun, what would you say? How about the Tooth Fairy, Santa, Mrs. Claus or the Easter Bunny? If desired, children can also get a response letter if a caregiver's phone number is provided and the letter is mailed by 6 pm on December 19th.

Wood Slice Art

Join us to paint a decorative wood slice. Warning: They are very giftable!

Make a Coaster
Saturday, December 6 at 4 PM
 
Learn the basics of weaving as you make a coaster. Makes a great gift! Fine motor skills needed, best for ages 8 and up.

Inbetweeners
Tuesday, December 9 at 4 PM
 
All 5th-7th graders are invited to join us as we play icebreaker games and enjoy making new friends, crafts, and fun!

Holiday Bookmarks

Join us for a fun kids' program where we'll create festive holiday-themed bookmarks perfect for winter reading!

Yoga for Kids

Yoga for Kids blends playful activities, storytelling, and yoga poses to nurture physical fitness, mindfulness, and creativity in a supportive environment. We have a selection of yoga mats available on a first come, first served basis.

Kids' Winter Reading Challenge
Friday, December 19-Tuesday, January 20
 
A special challenge to keep kids reading over winter break! Pick up a paper challenge sheet from our Children's Department and complete it to pick a small toy from our prize box and be entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a Barnes & Noble gift card. Completed sheets are due back to our library by 8PM on Tuesday, January 20. Note: This contest is specific to the Cynthia Graham Hurd St. Andrews branch, not all CCPL locations.

Noon Year's Eve Party

All-Ages Programs
Toy Drive
October 1-December 5
 
Cynthia Graham Hurd/St. Andrews Library, in partnership with Be YaSelf, will be hosting a toy drive through December 5. New toys, games, puzzles, and art supplies for children can be brought to the library, with all donations given to Be YaSelf for distribution. More information can be had by emailing smithp@ccpl.org.

Puzzle Swap
Friday, December 12-Tuesday, December 23
 
Spend the holidays together as a family solving a puzzle! Pick up a new-to-you puzzle at our swap and/or donated a puzzle to others. All puzzle sizes are welcome, but we do not ask that they have all their pieces. Donated puzzles can be dropped off at the library ahead of time.

Gingerbread House Build

You and your family are invited to build and take home your own gingerbread house creation! All supplies are provided. Registration is required; to register, call (843)-766-2546.

Snowy Pinecones

Note: All Hurd/St. Andrews storytimes will go on hiatus beginning the week of December 21. We will resume our regular programming schedule the week of January 4.
