What's Happening in September?
Bookmark Design Contest: An Ocean of Stories
September 1-30
 
Children's Book Week is right around the corner, so help us celebrate by designing a bookmark! Any child (pre-K through 12th grade) may submit a bookmark design during the month of September. Visit or contact your local library for  bookmark design submission forms and contest rules beginning September 1. One winner from each age group will be chosen and announced during Children's Book Week, which begins on November 3.

Nature Scavenger Hunt
Thursday, September 4 at 3 PM
 
Join us for a fun outdoor scavenger hunt on the front lawn! Kids will get a nature checklist and search for items like leaves, flowers, and rocks. Find them all to win a prize!

Yoga for Kids
Tuesday, September 16 at 3:30 PM
 
Yoga for kids blends playful activities, storytelling, and yoga poses to nurture physical fitness, mindfulness, and creativity in a supportive environment. We have a selection of yoga mats available for use on a first come, first served basis.

Multimedia Art for Autumn

Inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month, in this family storytime we'll read a few bilingual stories, sing and then make flores de papel, otherwise known as Mexican tissue paper flowers. No Spanish language skills are necessary to enjoy this special storytime and craft.

Golden Ticket Scavenger Hunt

Celebrate national Library Card Sognup Month in style! Hunt for one of the 100 hidden golden tickets scattered throughout the library. Find a golden ticket and you'll be entered for a chance to win an exciting weekly CCPL swag prize! At the end of the month someone will win a family grand prize package.

Hobbit Day Food Drive
Monday, September 15th-Saturday, September 20th
 
A Hobbit loves nothing more than a good meal with good company, so this year for Hobbit Day, the Hurd/St. Andrews Library is partnering with Lowcountry Food Bank to collect food for our neighbors in need. Visit the library in the week leading up to the Hobbit Day Party to drop off your shelf stable items and help us reach our donation goal! Most needed items: canned tuna and meat, canned fruit in water or juice, low-sodium canned vegetables, peanut butter, rice, and whole grain cereal or pasta.

Hobbit Day Party & Farmer's Market

Welcome back to our second annual Hobbit Day party at Hurd/St. Andrews Library! Join us as we celebrate everything "Lord of the Rings" with snacks, games, prizes, and more! Grab a second breakfast at our farmer's market and donate to our food drive to help provide elevenses to someone in need.
