This week's pick comes from sci-fi fan Brian, who recommends The Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov. Brian says: "The Caves of Steel, written in 1954, is part of Asimov’s famous robot stories. It is a combination mystery/detective novel with solid science fiction. It is set in New York City where many people don’t like robots even if they are part of life. The story pairs a human detective with a robot that is so human people cannot tell it is a robot. Together they need to solve a murder. Asimov expressed interesting ideas and it was especially interesting to think that these ideas felt current even though they come from 65 years ago. This is part of the joy of going back to classics 50 or 100 years old and being reminded how 'old' ideas are perfectly new and that many of our 'current' ideas have already been elucidated decades ago."
