New Checkout Process for Audiobooks and TV Series
We have been updating our processes and storage for audiobooks and
TV series. These changes will speed up your library visit so you can
get back home to start listening and watching faster.
  • Audiobooks are now inside the cases in the stacks. You can pick out what you want and take it to checkout just like a book. No more waiting for staff to find the CD in the back and switch out the cases.
  • For our TV series collection, we are currently streamlining how we store them. When we complete this project, all of the DVDs for each season of each series will be together in their original cases, allowing staff to easily find each season and bring it to you quicker. This process will take some time to complete, so please bear with us while we work on getting all the DVDs back in their cases.

Flower Power
Tuesday, Sept. 9 | 7-8:30 p.m. | Jahn Room
During the Mexican Revolution, many immigrants made their way to Kansas to raise their families and work in the railroad, agricultural, industrial and hospitality industries. A cultural offshoot for these Mexican residents in the Midwest was the search for the perfect tortilla, a staple of Mexican cuisine. Because corn tortillas were difficult to make by hand, many restaurants and home cooks substituted wheat flour tortillas for their signature dishes. This presentation uncovers the rich history of Mexican immigration to Kansas and the journey of the humble but important tortilla, with a demonstration of how to make a tortilla.
