News & Updates

Clean Up Kits Now Available!

SCLS now offers Clean Up & Green Up Kits through the Lending Library, available for public checkout or library program use.

Created through the Keep Long Island Beautiful campaign—these kits include litter pickers, gloves, trash bags, and other supplies to support community clean-up efforts.

The Great Give Back is a statewide initiative that provides library patrons with meaningful opportunities to give back to their communities through service and volunteerism. This year, as the nation commemorates America250, The Great Give Back is partnering with the New York State Library and the America Gives initiative to highlight the important role public libraries play in building strong, resilient communities.

A professional development series designed to help library staff build practical skills, strengthen community connections, and feel better prepared to respond to challenging situations, support patrons, prevent harm, and care for themselves.

VA S.A.V.E. Training - Suicide Prevention

The Veterans Affairs S.A.V.E. Training Program teaches you how to recognize suicidal thinking, assess, engage and connect Veterans to care.

Avoid Burnout: Set Boundaries

Wednesday, October 14 | 10:00am-11:00am

This presentation dives into the many benefits of setting boundaries and how the lack of boundaries contributes to burnout.
