Patriotic-Inspired Scented Sachets

Did you know that floral and herbal sachets were used during colonial times? Learn more in this relaxing workshop. Sewing machines will be used to create your own lavender, sage, or floral scented sachet pillow. In-person registration begins May 1. NENA462
 
Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday with Sal St. George
(Northport) Tuesday, May 12, 2:00 p.m.

Learn how Hollywood interpreted the American Revolution through three motion picture styles: drama, musical, and comedy, featuring The Crossing (2000), 1776 (1972), and The Time of Their Lives (1946). 
 
What Entertained the Founding Fathers?

The hit Broadway musical Hamilton showed the Founding Fathers (and Mothers) rapping and dancing. But what did they actually do for entertainment? Through samples and descriptions, learn about the entertainment the Founders enjoyed 250 years ago.
 
Neoclassicism in Revolutionary America
(Northport) Tuesday, June 2, 2:00 p.m.

Art historian Jay Schuck will examine how the ideals of Ancient Greece and Rome shaped the visual culture of Revolutionary America from civic buildings to portraiture.

All volunteer items are to be picked up from the Northport Teen Center by May 15 and returned by May 29 to earn community service credit. You may choose a maximum of two volunteer opportunities in addition to Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
