In celebration of Library Card Sign-up Month, the Northport Gallery is showcasing a collection of library cards from around the United States and the world! With more than 1,000 library cards on display, this exhibit highlights the importance of libraries and their role in communities worldwide. Nature Photography Workshop

Cary Grant: Hollywood’s Debonair Leading Man
(Northport) Tuesday, September 9, 2:00 p.m.

Cary Grant was as notable in dramatic parts as he was in comedies. Join lecturer Marc Courtade in celebrating one of the finest leading men ever to come out of Hollywood.

Outdoor Movie in the Library Courtyard: Lilo & Stitch
(Northport) Friday, September 12, 7:30 p.m.

Join us in the Library Courtyard for an outdoor screening of Lilo & Stitch. A lonely Hawaiian girl
befriends a runaway alien, helping to mend her fragmented family.
 
Rated PG. 107 minutes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled.

Meet the Author: My Name is Ai Lin

For families with children 4 years and up.
Author Maria Wen Adcock returns to the Library in celebration of her new picture book, My Name Is Ai Lin. Children will enjoy a special reading of the book by the author and then create a craft based on the story. (60 min.)

Moms’ Group
(East Northport) Wednesdays, September 10, 17,
October 1, 8, 15, 22, 10:00 a.m.

For mothers with children birth–3 years

This is a weekly discussion for moms and their children. Led by a trained facilitator, this program will introduce various topics and activities that celebrate and explore motherhood while your children play with toys beside you. (90 min.)

SAT Preparation Workshop
(Northport) Thursdays, September 4, 11, 18, 25, 6:15–8:45 p.m.
Students in grades 10–12

Students can prepare for the fall PSAT/SAT exams with teachers Jason Bernstein and Jay Berger. Registration is underway, and seats may be limited. NENY805
 
Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Registration for the following Teen Volunteer Opportunities begins September 2.
Open to students entering grades 7–12.
Open to NENPL cardholders only.

 
All volunteer items are to be picked up from the Northport Teen Center by September 19 and returned by September 30 to earn community service credit. You may choose a maximum of two volunteer opportunities in addition to Letters of Love Volunteers
