Seating will be provided, or you may bring a blanket and find a spot on the Library Courtyard lawn.

Bring your Summer Tour booklet with you as you visit public libraries
all around Suffolk County. Stop by the Circulation Desk in either library building to pick up your free booklet and get started. As you travel around the County, find the unique Prehistoric Creature at each library, then locate their Stamp Station to receive a stamp, sticker, and collectible prehistoric creature trading card.

Children's Summer Reading Club 2026
Unearth A Story
June 15–August 8
Join our summer reading challenge on Beanstack!

Keep track of the books you read to earn badges and prizes. Children birth–2 years will earn a prize after 30 books. Children 3 years and up who read or listen for six hours will earn tickets to the Reward Show! Stop by the Summer Reading Club Desk at either library building to talk about your books and pick out a Brag Tag for each hour completed.
 
The Summer Reading Club Desk is open Monday–Friday 9:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.,
and Saturday 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Teen Summer Reading Club 2026
Unearth A Story
June 15–August 8

Summer is the time to read, learn new skills, try some new activities, and have fun! “Unearth a Story” is this year’s Teen Summer Reading Club theme.
 
For each book review submitted, you will receive a raffle ticket to put towards your choice of one of our 12 raffle baskets. All teens will receive a string backpack and an inflatable beach ball upon completion of their first book review. Items may be picked up in the Teen Centers (while supplies last).

Registration for the following Teen Volunteer Opportunities begins July 1.
Open to students entering grades 7–12.
Open only to Northport-East Northport Public Library cardholders.
 
All volunteer items are to be picked up from the Northport Teen Center by July 15 and returned by June 30 to earn community service credit. You may choose a maximum of two volunteer opportunities in addition to Tiny Art Show.

Purple Tulle Wreath Project
National Recovery Month is observed annually every September by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to raise awareness about addiction treatment and recovery. Purple is the designated color for overdose and recovery awareness. Pick up your purple tulle wreath kit at the Northport Teen Center and return your completed project by July 31 to receive two hours of community service credit. The purple wreaths will be displayed at both library buildings in September in partnership with the Northport-East Northport Youth Directions & Alternatives initiative.
