What Do the Colors Mean? - Blue!

So far we've covered Phonics, Emergent Readers, and Early Readers. Now it's time for the blue stickers: Transitional Readers. These books will include more complex vocabulary, clear chapter divisions, challenging themes and fewer pictures. Think of this level as your little's first foray into reading chapter books!

One of the challenging themes your child might encounter is STEAM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Reading is Fundamental, a nonprofit combating the literacy crisis in America, has a ton of great materials to support STEAM education and literacy! Check out their free library of resources, including great materials to accompany Margaret McNamara's How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin?.

Now let's explore more STEAM books at each of our Beginning Reader levels!
